Her fourth album, "More than a Woman" was probably the worst ever album coming from Toni Braxton. It was a miserable failure partly because of poor handling of the promotional campaign by the producers and partly because Braxton was pregnant at that time with her second child. Seething with anger Braxton lashed out at the company for album's failure.

Ending her 14-year contract with Arista Records Braxton moved to Blackground Records, headed by her former manager Barry Hankerson. Her fifth album, "Libra" released in 2005 by Blackground Records was also a failure due to poor album promotion. Putting old wine in a new bottle the undaunted Braxton re-released "Libra" under Edel Music, a German label. The repackaging trick too didn't work and even the inclusion of a new song 'Time of our Lives' failed to bring out any magical turnaround. Weary of her failures and fed up with number of disputes with Barry Hankerson, The Blackground Records released her from the contract. Frustrated Toni Braxton filed a law suit against Barry Hankerson for $10 million in the US District Court in Manhattan on 12 January 2007.Turning to acting in between her singing sessions, Braxton has first appeared in two Disney Broadway shows: 'Beauty and the Beast' in 1998 and 'Aida' in 2003. She also acted in a Hollywood movie "Kingdom Come" in 2001.
